Richard has legs of steel!

Our very own Richard Tweedle, completed the New York Marathon last Friday in just 3 hours and 41 mins!

Richard bravely set off at 9.15am last Friday from Staten Island with the first mile up and over the Verrazano bridge, giving incredible views over NY harbour and the Statue of Liberty. The weather played its part with a light sunshine and an ideal running temperature.

He carried on through Brooklyn with amazing support, into Queens and then the long climb over the Queensborough bridge which took him into Manhattan. The crowds lining 1st Ave were huge and extremely noisy with lots of people ‘rooting’ for him. The final 4 miles took him into Central Park and the finish line!

Richard finished 10,982 out of 55,524 runners, an incredible achievement! He raised vital funds for our Steps to 16 programme, read more about it here.
