Role: Senior Instructor for Alternative Learning (Gateway)
Location: Gateway Community Garden – Reigate
Hours: 21 Hrs p/wk for 41 weeks of the year (term time plus 2) Tues, Weds & 1 other day
Salary: £15.05 per hour

A Senior Instructor role responsible for the teaching, development and daily operation of Surrey Care Trust’s Alternative Provision on site at Gateway Community Garden. Leading staff to facilitate teaching and learning and support for pupils aged 14 – 16, including those with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), the key duties include overseeing the SEN policy, coordinating provision with staff and external agencies like health and educational services, managing records, and working closely with young people and parents to ensure personalized support plans and educational outcomes for students. You will line manage a small team to support the implementation of the programme and liaise with the Gateway Community Garden team to ensure a cohesive approach to the activities, plan sessions, work towards ASDAN qualifications with your students.

Role: Learning Support Coordinator for Alternative Provision (Gateway)

This role is pivotal to supporting and facilitating the teaching and learning of young people at Surrey Care Trust’s Alternative Provision on the Gateway Community Garden. Along with the Senior Coordinator, you will deliver teaching and learning support for pupils aged 14 – 16, including those with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) and administer student attendance, records and assessments. The key duties include coordinating provision with the team, administration of records, and working closely with young people, parents and schools to deliver personalized support plans and educational outcomes for students. You will support the Senior Instructor for Alternative Learning in the implementation of the programme and liaise with the Gateway Community Garden team to ensure a cohesive approach to the activities, support the planning of sessions and delivering the assessment criteria for the ASDAN qualifications with your students.

Role: Steps2Work Employment Co-ordinator
Location: Woking – Office based
Hours: 1 x 21 hours per week across three days (Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday) or alternatively 21 hours worked over four days (Monday to Thursday).

In this role you will co-ordinate, assist and motivate young people to overcome barriers and challenges to employment and/or education and support them into sustainable employment or training opportunities.
You will improve the employability of young people who are referred to the Woking Youth Hub by understanding their individual needs and aspirations, agree goals toward reaching them and working alongside them to support them in gaining the necessary confidence and skills. Signposting them to relevant organisations, monitoring progress and working alongside the team and volunteer mentors to provide a holistic approach to achieving short- and long-term employment and education opportunities.
