Get ready Guildford, it’s time to make a splash! The charity Duck Dash & Raft Race is back for another year of wacky, wonderful, and water-filled fun on the River Wey. This fantastic community event promises quirky duck races, blockbuster raft races, and relaxing river cruises – perfect for families, friends, and local businesses alike. Whether you are cheering on your lucky duck(s), paddling in a movie-themed raft, or simply soaking up the buzzing atmosphere, this is one summer day you won’t want to miss!
The festivities kick off at 1pm with the Big Duck Parade, where giant 2ft yellow ducks will take the plunge down the river, followed by a thrilling second race featuring hundreds of little ducks. Witness the excitement as these little quackers race to claim Duck Glory! Later in the day, the Guildford Lions will launch their legendary Raft Race. This year’s theme is Hollywood – watch as teams paddle homemade rafts inspired by iconic movies, from pirate ships to spaceships and everything in between. Will your favourite film make a splash?
Adding to the fun is an Eco Challenge by Zero Carbon Guildford, offering a £100 prize for the most sustainable raft made from recycled materials.
With laughter, friendly competition, and community spirit at its heart, this free-to-attend event is a must-see!
