We would like to thank Thales UK for their amazing teams who came to Gateway and got building! Everything from a whole new seating area made of recycled pallets, a new table, log stores, even a new covering. We are exceptionally grateful to everyone who came along and got stuck in!
It was an absolute pleasure working with the Community Garden volunteers, whose commitment to supporting vulnerable young people cannot be understated. Seeing the Community Garden’s values align with the Social Value aspirations of Thales was really heartening, and I can only hope that there shall be future opportunities for both parties to collaborate in the future! – Sam Hoyland
The award-winning project based in New Pond Road, helps vulnerable young people, families and adults improve their skills, mental health, and wellbeing by harnessing the power of the natural environment. Working alongside trained co-ordinators and volunteers, the Allotment runs weekly sessions which include gardening, woodcraft, cooking and therapeutic arts and crafts activities.
Milly O’Ryan, Nurture through Nature Assistant Manager, Gateway Community Garden said:
Gateway is a wonderful space that fosters a sense of togetherness, growth, and sustainability. With the supply of these much-needed resources, we can prepare new raised beds, compost bins, art projects and bug hotels for everyone to enjoy, including our wildlife! Such support from businesses and organisations makes such a tremendous difference, breathing new life into our community project. We are so grateful to Gerry and his team at Gutterworks Limited and look forward to working together again this year
