Endeavour's endeavours

Regular updates on the environmental work carried out by our volunteer Swingbridge Endeavour crews.

6 of us today.

We helmed up to and through St Cats today to the Steps mooring where we were going to focus on the remainder of the fence which looks great.

On inspection and having spoke to Mark and sent a couple of pics it was decided that very little needed to be done. We took the excess off two of the posts, inserted Timberlock screws where necessary and added a small section at the end of the fence at a 45 degree angle.

Our second project of the day was to tackle a vast amount of reeds (floating Island) that had come away from the banks edge between the cottage and St Cats lock. We dropped M off with the grapple hook near the mass and between him pulling it to shore and K’s impressive helming , using the boat to push it, we managed to make it sufficiently secure.

The weather was a lot kinder today than the forecast had suggested with some fairly strong winds in the morning which made helming fun.
